Élysée Brume

Description

The collection, edited through the line Cogolin et les Mains du monde, in collaboration with the Fondation André Arbus, unveils original rug designs selected from the archives of the French decorator André Arbus.

It is composed of five rug designs in wool, chosen from Arbus’ archives conserved at the Paris Musée des Arts Décoratifs. Tristan Salmon-Legagneur and La Manufacture Cogolin have together made a thoughtful selection that demonstrates the breadth of the French decorator’s work, as well as the exceptional craftmanship of the brand.

Presented in a color palette from the 1940’s that remains perfectly adapted to contemporary interiors, the rugs of the collection are hand-knotted in Nepal in a quality unique to La Manufacture Cogolin. Higher pile heights and weaving densities that allow the yarns to move bring the softness and comfort of rugs made at the brand’s workshop in the mid-20th century, while hand-finishing techniques maintain the crispness of Arbus’ designs.
